The 2nd St George’s Society Quiz Night of the year was held on Wednesday 11th March at Temples Bar on Soi 11. (Tuesday night is Ladies Night from 8 pm - cocktails, house spirits and beers buy one get one free!)

The 'Famous 5' team decided last minute to attend and were glad we did!  We arrived promptly at 7.30 picked out our table, got our drinks and prepared for the challenge ahead.  The bar started to fill up and once all were seated the quiz began.  And what a challenge it was.  Simon really had our brains working that night.  The quiz was split into 4 sections and after the first round we hadn't done very well.  Luckily we'd written down all the questions and going back over them we managed to fill in some of the gaps, whether they were correct was mostly due to pure guess work!

Snacks were laid on at half time and disappeared quickly as they were extremely tasty.

The 2nd round started and was slightly easier, which meant we were able to answer more questions first time round. The quiz over, the papers were swapped for marking. Whilst the answers were being read out we did feel that we had done better than we initially thought, so when Simon announced the winners to our utter amazement we actually came 2nd - wow what a surprise.  We each won a golf lesson at Wilding Golf.

Many thanks go to Simon and Abbie for organising, it was a great night and we look forward to the next one - but maybe with a few easier questions next time please Simon.
