Members and friends of the Bangkok St. George’s Society were greeted by President, Gale Bailey, on the back lawn of the British Club for the annual lunch which was a great success as ever.
The rain held off and it was a glorious afternoon to sit and chat with old and new friends and eat delicious food – tandoori chicken, kebabs, burgers, hot dogs – all true English fayre!! The accompanying salads and jacket potatoes with scrummy fillings finished off with a helping of blackberry and apple crumble with custard was just the job - all washed down with ample supplies of beer and wine.

There was a bouncing castle and face painting/arts and crafts for the children who were well behaved so obviously they were kept occupied and happy.
A raffle was held and the lucky first prize winner of an Ipod was Laura Jayawardane (a new member) whose ticket was drawn by Edith Stewart M.B.E. who even though Scottish through and through is always an ardent supporter of St. George’s Society. In fact we are all chameleons in this huge metropolis.
Angela Stafford was there giving a plug to the BNH Knitting Project and was photographed with Edith, Gale and Paul Jackson, DJ on Wave FM88, who quipped that we looked like we were on a seaside holiday at Brighton in July!

There was such a good atmosphere that 5 new members signed to join our happy band so all the effort was worthwhile but with the continuous help and support of Barry and the staff at the British Club, the stress is kept to a minimum
Thanks to everyone who helped to make this another memorable afternoon (and evening for some!)

GALE BAILEY, PRESIDENT.
